kid apollo – i let the sun back in

kid apollo captures a quietly powerful turning point with i let the sun back in, an indie pop record that speaks to the slow and deliberate choice of allowing healing to begin after a long period of keeping everything closed off.

i let the sun back in moves through a warm understated production with soft guitar textures and gentle rhythmic layers that feel like the musical equivalent of a window being opened after a very long winter, creating a listening experience that is tender and hopeful without being saccharine about what it actually took to get there. The vocals stay gentle and reflective throughout and the lyrical direction handles emotional recovery with a maturity that acknowledges the difficulty of the process rather than skipping straight to the resolution.

kid apollo has been quietly building a catalogue in the indie and alternative pop space that rewards listeners who pay close attention to both the production details and the emotional subtext running beneath the surface of every song. Their work carries a consistency of feeling and perspective that makes each release feel like a natural continuation of a longer and very personal creative conversation rather than a collection of disconnected singles.

This song feels like the kind of record people will find at the exact right moment in their own lives and hold onto for far longer than they expected when they first pressed play.

Listen and Enjoy!
