MEOVV – In my hands

MEOVV reveals a more controlled and quietly commanding side of their creative range with In My Hands, a sleek and atmospherically rich K-pop record that trades the group’s more aggressive energy for something cooler and more deliberately assured without losing any of the intensity that makes their output consistently compelling.

The production settles into a smooth and sophisticated sonic space built on carefully layered textures and a melodic sensibility that creates an atmosphere of focused confidence and restrained power, giving each member the room to deliver performances that feel precise and intentional rather than simply energetic, which is a considerably harder quality to achieve and a considerably more revealing demonstration of genuine artistic ability. In My Hands moves with the specific kind of measured and self-possessed momentum that belongs to a group that has found its footing and is now making creative choices from a position of genuine security rather than the need to prove anything to anyone, resulting in a record that communicates authority without having to announce it at any point across its carefully constructed runtime.

MEOVV has been making a compelling case through early releases for a creative identity that is considerably more layered and more stylistically versatile than any single record could fully communicate, with the output to date reflecting a group whose range extends from the harder and more confrontational end of their sonic palette all the way to the cooler and more atmospheric territory that this particular record inhabits with genuine confidence and genuine style. The growing recognition and anticipation surrounding the group within the K-pop community points toward an act whose full creative potential is still in the process of being revealed, which makes every new release feel like an important and genuinely interesting piece of a larger and more fascinating picture.

There is a composed and genuinely magnetic quality to this record that makes it the kind of music that earns repeat listens through the slow accumulation of appreciation rather than the immediate impact of a first impression, rewarding the patience of the listener who gives it the full and unhurried attention it was clearly made to receive.

Listen and Enjoy!
