MEOVV – Hit’ Em

MEOVV comes through with something ferociously energetic and unapologetically bold in Hit’ Em, a hard-hitting K-pop record that wastes absolutely no time establishing exactly what kind of group this is and exactly what level of creative aggression and performance intensity they are prepared to bring to every moment they are given.

The production hits with a sharp and deliberately confrontational energy built on driving beats and a dynamic arrangement that creates a listening experience designed from the ground up to demand your full attention and make withdrawing it feel like a personal failure of commitment rather than a reasonable creative response to what is being offered. Hit’ Em moves with the relentless and slightly menacing momentum that belongs to music made by a group who understand that the best way to introduce yourself to a competitive landscape is to walk in at full volume and make it impossible for anyone in the room to pretend they did not notice your arrival.

This glowing singer has been establishing an early creative reputation as one of the most performance-focused and most sonically ambitious new acts to emerge from the YG Entertainment roster, with the output to date reflecting a group whose individual talents and collective creative chemistry have been generating genuine excitement within the K-pop community and beyond about what the full realisation of this particular artistic vision is ultimately going to look and sound like. The combination of YG’s production resources and the group’s evident willingness to push toward harder and more creatively daring territory than many of their contemporaries are currently exploring positions them as one of the more interesting and most worth following new acts in the current generation of K-pop.

There is a fierce and completely uncompromising quality to this record that makes it one of the more genuinely exciting new group statements in recent K-pop memory, the kind of music that makes you sit up straighter simply because something about its energy makes relaxing feel like the wrong response.

Stay Tuned and Enjoy!
