Tope Alabi – Ikele

Tope Alabi comes through with Ikele, another Yoruba gospel recording from the 2026 IMOLE project, with the title providing a starting point for reflection on spiritual devotion and personal faith.

Ikele can be heard through the everyday idea of devotion, the act of giving something your attention and loyalty even when circumstances become demanding. People experience that commitment in different ways, but faith often asks for consistency when emotions are not always strong. The music supports that thought with a controlled gospel rhythm and a vocal-led arrangement that keeps Alabi’s delivery at the centre. Her voice moves between intimate phrases and firmer declarations, while the backing arrangement remains measured enough for the Yoruba lyrics to stay understandable.

Ikele is listed among the later songs on IMOLE, following Imole Abori and coming before Aye Mi Dowo Re. The project also includes Iwa Eda and Oro Mi Dowo Re, alongside earlier titles such as Imole Tan, Jesu Ni, Tibi Tire and Wura. This places the recording within a substantial 2026 body of Yoruba gospel work from Alabi.

The theme of devotion becomes most meaningful when life gets busy and attention is pulled in several directions. This record fits that kind of moment, when a listener wants to slow down and return attention to what they believe matters most.
