Kwartengg – Out the Mud Ft. M.anifest

Kwartengg connects with veteran Ghanaian rapper M.anifest for something gritty and genuinely triumphant in Out the Mud, a collaboration rooted in the authentic African hip hop tradition that speaks directly to the grind, the struggle, and the hard-earned victory of rising from difficult beginnings.

The production carries the weight and texture of a record that understands where it came from, built on a beat that feels both contemporary and culturally grounded with a rhythmic confidence that gives both artists the perfect foundation to tell their stories without restraint. Kwartengg brings a raw hunger to the track that is immediately engaging, and M.anifest’s verse adds the kind of lyrical precision and veteran presence that elevates the entire collaboration into something that feels genuinely significant rather than simply well-executed. Out the Mud draws from the universal but deeply personal narrative of building something real from nothing, of navigating systems and circumstances that were never designed to make things easy and finding your way through anyway by sheer force of will and consistency. The emotional direction is celebratory without being boastful, carrying instead the quiet pride of people who know exactly what it cost to get to where they are standing.

This surprising singer has been steadily establishing themselves within the West African hip hop landscape as an artist with a genuine story to tell and the lyrical ability to tell it in a way that connects with listeners who recognise the authenticity behind the music. The decision to bring M.anifest into this record is a creative statement in itself, aligning with one of the most respected and lyrically accomplished voices in African rap and signalling a clear ambition to operate at the highest level of the craft. That combination of emerging hunger and established excellence makes for a collaboration that delivers on every level it sets out to reach.

This track carries the specific energy of a celebration that was a long time coming and is all the sweeter for it. There is a groundedness to the way both artists inhabit this record that makes the triumph feel real rather than performed, which is exactly what separates a great hustle anthem from a forgettable one.

On first listen the song connects through the immediate authenticity of both performances and the way the production creates a sonic environment that feels genuinely reflective of the experiences being described rather than simply adjacent to them. The replay value is strong because the record rewards closer attention with each listen, the lyrical details and the chemistry between the two artists revealing more of their depth the more time you spend inside the track.

This is music made for the people who are still in the middle of their own climb and need something that speaks their language with honesty and respect, morning motivation before a day that demands everything you have, celebrations with the people who were there from the beginning, or any moment when you need to be reminded that the mud you came from was never your destination but simply the ground from which something real was always going to grow. It carries a pan-African hip hop spirit that makes it essential listening for anyone who appreciates the genre at its most purposeful and most honest.
