Stella Chin Akoma – The Cross Still Speaks

Stella Chin Akoma pours her full conviction into The Cross Still Speaks, a deeply rooted gospel record that carries a timeless message of redemption and faith with a vocal and musical sincerity that is genuinely hard to walk away from.

The production on this track is rich and reverent, built on a gospel foundation that feels both classic and immediate, the kind of sound that fills whatever space it enters with a sense of sacred weight. Stella’s voice is at its most commanding here, delivering each line with the kind of authority that only comes from truly believing every word being sung. The Cross Still Speaks centers on the enduring power of sacrifice and grace, reminding listeners that the message of the cross is not a historical footnote but a living and relevant truth. Every element of the song, from the arrangement to the vocal phrasing, is arranged in service of that central declaration.

She has quietly built one of the more compelling catalogs in contemporary gospel music, consistently releasing work that prioritizes spiritual substance over commercial convenience. Her previous records have demonstrated a vocalist and songwriter who understands how to carry sacred themes without making them feel distant or inaccessible to everyday listeners. This release continues that mission with a clarity of purpose that her growing audience has come to expect and deeply appreciate.

There is a declarative strength running through this record that makes it feel like more than just a song. It carries the energy of something being proclaimed rather than simply performed, and that distinction is exactly what gives it the power to stay with you well after the music has stopped.

On first listen the track connects through the sheer conviction in Stella’s delivery, because you can feel immediately that this is not music made for show but for something far more meaningful. The replay value is rooted in how it consistently reignites something in the listener, returning to it never feels repetitive because the message lands with fresh relevance each time.

This is a song built for worship settings, morning devotions, and those personal moments when you need to be anchored back to something greater than your current circumstances. Whether you are in a season of celebration or working through something difficult, it meets you exactly where you are and speaks directly into that space.
